Promises of Autumn

September is here!

It’s one of my favorite months for many reasons.  It’s the month I share my and my daughter’s birthdays (always a celebration).  It’s the beginning of many starts, whether it be projects, school, work or changing locations.  Cooler weather is promised ahead (and I’m a very cold weather type of person).  And most of all, this is month that marks the beginning of Autumn, my favorite season of the year!

I love everything there is about Autumn—the freshness of the icy air, the leaves miraculously changing from green to scarlet, amber and gold, the smells of the sugary, maple sap on the trees that blend with the morning dew and frost.  I love the county and harvest festivals with their corn mazes, hayrides, pumpkin cookies and chicken soups.

It’s the perfect time to rekindle that warm blaze in the fireplace again, grab a quilt and curl up beside it with a favorite book, blueberry muffins and a mug of steaming coffee or tea.  (And if you’re looking for a great new read, don’t forget to grab a copy of SOMETHING WILD!)

It’s that “Fall feeling” I love so much.  The conclusion of a year, and the promises of another and all its possibilities to come.  It’s the best time to fall in love, and my favorite time to look back on all the love that has been gifted to me in the past.

So I hope you get a chance to take some time, no matter where you live, and look for the signs of Autumn and all of the reminders of why life can be so warm and wonderful.  You won’t be disappointed.  I promise.
